MCP plugin for Simon Willison's `llm` CLI

A plugin for Simon Willison's `llm` CLI that adds an `llm mcp-server` command, turning the models a developer already has configured in `llm` into an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that any MCP-compatible client (Claude Desktop, Zed, etc.) can call as tools. Built for developers who already use `llm` and want their existing model setup reachable from MCP hosts without hand-rolling a server.

  • `llm mcp-server` command that starts a stdio MCP server exposing every model already configured in the user's local `llm` installation as a callable MCP tool, so an MCP client can send a prompt and get back a completion from any of the user's llm-configured models
  • Zero-config startup: the server reads model aliases and API keys directly from llm's own existing config store, so there is no separate credentials file or setup step before it works
